» Knock-down Finish
A knock-down texture is the most popular finish for spray-applied toppings. It is produced by using a trowel right after spray application to “knock down” the high spots left behind from the sprayer. That make the textured finish more subtle and more comfortable to walk on, making it a good choice for surfaces such as pool decks.
» Textured Skim Coats
There is a variety of textured finishes that can be achieved on skim coats or microtoppings. These systems are finished with a variety of tools such as trowels, floats, or rubber squeegees, which allows us to vary the texture by simply modifying the troweling technique we use.
» Broom Finish
That is the classic finish of newly poured concrete especially on exterior surfaces. There are some overlay systems and microtoppings that can also be finished in this manner. The broom finished surface is typically more slip resistant.
» Hard-troweled Finish
This finish is used for a smooth, highly polished look and achieved by using a steel trowel. This technique is typically used with semi self-leveling microtoppings and limited to indoor surfaces because it offers little slip resistance.
» Stamped Textures
This finish is applied on stampable overlays on interior concrete floors using stamping mats an texturing skins to produce patterns and textures that mimic materials such as stone, brick or slate. Texturing skins produce a seamless texture without grout lines, while mats produce a deeper pattern with well-defined lines. Stamped textures are also very popular on exterior surfaces such as patios, pool decks, driveways and walkways, where they can be applied directly over new concrete (stamped concrete) or over an overlay on the existing concrete (stamped concrete overlay).
» Flat, Smooth Surface
Self-leveling overlays generally produce a smooth, seamless look with no texture.
» Decorative Scoring
Decorative hand scoring and sawcutting can be used with most overlays to create unique patterns and custom graphics.
